Delivering to students

Giving documents and folders

Documents and folders reach students much like exams do: each has a delivery screen with settings, a link and publishing on your page. This page shows what is special about each of them.

Give a document

  1. On the document's item page, click Deliver to the class.
  2. Choose Digital or Printed, and the document's delivery screen opens.
The window for giving the document to students, with two groups: Digital, with two earlier deliveries and the New digital delivery button, and Printed, saying None yet, with the New printed version button.
For a document that was delivered before, the window lists its deliveries by type and lets you make a new one.

If the document already has deliveries, the window lists them by type. You can open one with its Open button, or make a New digital delivery or a New printed version.

A document's delivery screen

The screen is built like the one for a printed exam: on one side the document's pages, in the Screen or Print view, and on the other a panel with a button to download the document as a PDF, and four tabs:

  • Design and Customize: the page's design, and what it shows: a logo, the date, a header text, a signature, a footer text and page numbers.
  • Settings: who can open the document with its link, Anyone with the link or Only students I choose.
  • Publish: the Open with a link switch. When it's on, there's a Link to the document with Copy link and ways to send it, and the students you chose can get an email. Under Publish to a page, show the document on your page and choose its categories.
The Send it to students part of a document's Publish tab: the Open with a link switch is on, the link to the document with the Copy link button, buttons to send it, and a box for a note in an email to the chosen students with a send button.
A document's Publish tab: Open with a link, the link to the document, and an email to the students you chose.

At the bottom of the panel you can go back to edit the content, or save and finish. When you finish, you go back to My storage.

Give a folder

A folder gives several items together. Students get one link to the folder, and see the items in it that are open.

  1. In the folder editor, click Publish to your page.
  2. In the window, click New delivery, or Edit next to one you already have. The folder's delivery screen opens.
  3. Check the items, and click Open to students.

The side panel has two tabs. On the Settings tab, choose Who can open the folder. It applies to the folder's link, and each item in it keeps its own setting. The Publish tab has the Link to the folder, the ways to send it, and Publish to a page.

Note: the Publish to your page window opens only when your page is on and your account lets you publish on it. Otherwise, a message says what is missing.

The items in the folder

Each item in the folder has a card with its own delivery:

  • The Open to students and On the page switches are saved right away.
  • Under the switches it says who can open the item. The Delivery settings button opens a window where you choose which of the item's deliveries is In the folder, and how it shows on the page. The choice takes effect when you save the window.
  • An item that has no delivery yet says Not set up yet. To set it up, click Set it up.

Next to them are two switches that are on, Open to students and On the page, and under them the words Anyone with the link and the Delivery settings button. The window of an item in the folder. On one side, the item's deliveries, each with the Open to students and On the page switches, the In the folder choice and an Edit button. On the other side, how it shows on the page: title, description, who can open it and categories.

The Apply to all items button gives every item the folder's own settings, only for what you choose in its window: Open or closed to students, Shown on the page or not, Who can open it and The page's categories. Each item's other settings stay as they are.

Tip: you add items to a folder in the folder editor. See Folders.
