Results and analytics
An exam's results
An exam's results page shows each attempt at a digital exam: how far the student got, the score, and every answer. It's also where you score answers that wait for you.
Getting to the results
Select Analytics in the side rail, then the exam's name. You can also get there from My deliveries and from the Results tab of a class's page.
The top of the page shows the exam's name, whether it's Open to students or Closed to students, its passing score and the number of attempts. The Open to students switch opens or closes the exam at once, and The delivery's settings opens its settings (see Giving an exam digitally).

The attempts table
The Students tab has a row for each attempt, with the columns Student, Status, Started, Questions, Passed (when there's a passing score), Score and Time. Scores show as percentages, and as points too when the exam isn't out of 100. From 85 up a score is green; below the passing score (or below 56 when there's none) it's red.
- A square for each question: its color says whether the answer is right, partly right or wrong. The line under it says what happened: answered, seen, skipped, or time ran out. A dashed border is an answer that waits for your score, and a ring marks the question the student is on now. The legend under the table explains each mark.
- Next to the score: a pencil means A score you set, and a clock means Some answers wait for your score.
- Students who didn't start: for an exam given to chosen classes or students, they show after the last page, with the status Didn't start.
Filtering, sorting and refreshing
- Passed or not shows only those who Passed or only those who Didn't pass. It shows when the exam has a passing score.
- Any status shows only the attempts in one status, such as Submitted or Answering.
- Select a column's header to sort by it; select it again to reverse the order. The page buttons are at the bottom.
- While the exam is open, the Refresh by itself switch updates the table when students answer, and marks the rows that changed.

A student's attempt
Select a student's name, or their row, to open the attempt's window. Its top shows the status, time and score, and below are three tabs:
- Summary: the student's details, when the attempt was opened, started and submitted, and the scores: Computed, and Yours when you set one.
- Answers: each question as it was answered, with its points and any hint or skip. When an answer isn't fully right, switch between Their answer and The right answer.
- Timeline: what happened and when, such as moving between questions or using a hint.
An attempt that's still going has Stop the attempt: the student can't go on answering, and what was already answered stays. Other attempts have Delete the attempt: it won't count in the results any more, and this can't be undone.

Scoring open questions and rechecking
An open question gets a score by itself only when the answer is exactly the answer written in the question. Otherwise it Waits for your score, and the attempt's score isn't final until you score it.
- In the attempt's window, go to the Answers tab.
- On the question, select Set its score.
- Type the points, from 0 up to the question's points, and select Save.
- If you like, write a note in the box under the question. It's saved as you type, and Note saved. shows beside it.

Recheck any other question the same way: your score replaces the computed one, which shows beside it. On a question you already scored, the button is Change its score. At the top of the window, Set a score and Add a note apply to the whole attempt.
Important: When you've set a score for the whole attempt, scoring a question replaces it with the sum of the questions' scores, and you're asked first. A score you set also decides whether the attempt passed.
When you close the window, the table's rows update. The exam's charts are explained in Analytics and charts.
