Question types
The exam editor has six question types. Here's what you write in each one, and how students' answers are scored in a digital exam.
What all types share
You pick the type when you add a question (The exam editor). A question can also be edited on its own page (in My storage, its menu's Edit), with the same editor and a Preview tab.

Every question starts with its text, which can have formatting, pictures and videos. At the end of the editor, under Add to the question, add a Title, an Intro text, a Hint or a Closing text as needed. Students see the hint only when the digital exam allows hints, which can cost part of the question's points.
Automatic scoring is all or nothing: a question answered right gets all its points, and a question with a mistake gets 0. Only in a grouped question is each part scored on its own.
Multiple choice and true or false
Multiple choice: write the question and the answers, and press Correct next to the right answer. Add an answer adds one; from the third answer on, answers can be removed. Two switches: Shuffle the answers for each student and More than one correct answer. Scoring: full points only when the student chose exactly the correct answers, all of them and no wrong one.

True / false: both answers come written (you can change their words); choose which one is correct.
Open question
Write the question, and in A sample answer write what a full answer says. Students don't see it: it's for whoever checks. The Set how many lines the answer gets switch sets the number of Lines for the answer in print, and the height of the answer box in the digital exam.
Scoring: you check and score the answers in the results (An exam's results). An answer that's word for word the sample answer is marked correct right away.
Fill in the blanks
- Write the text in The text.
- Select a word or a few words in it, and press Make a blank. The words are marked in the text, and they show under The answers labelled In the text.
- Add distractors with Add a wrong answer to the bank.
Three switches: Show the students a bank of answers (when it's on, students pick each answer from a list; when it's off, they type it), Mix the bank's order and Show identical answers once. Changing a blank's answer in the bank changes the text; removing it makes the words plain text again.
Scoring: full points only when every blank is filled in right. The answer must be the words that were marked: extra spaces don't matter, but capital and small letters do.

Matching
Write the items in two columns (Add an item adds one). Each column can have a title that students see, and its own Shuffle it for each student switch. Under each item of the first column, next to Goes with, press the items of the second column that go with it. An item can go with several items, and a second-column item with no pair is a distractor.
Scoring: full points only when the student matched all the pairs, with no wrong pair.

Grouped question
Several questions on one source, each in its own part. In The shared text, write what all the parts are about: a passage, a picture or a table (optional). Under The parts, next to Add a part, press the new part's type: Multiple choice, True / false, Open question, Fill in the blanks or Matching. Each part is written like a question of its type, and can be moved or removed.
Scoring: the question's points are shared equally between its parts, and each part is scored by its own type. A part left unanswered gets 0 of its share. If an open part can't be scored automatically, the whole question waits for your score in the results. In the digital exam's settings you can also show the parts as separate questions.
